New to rowing? Brock Novice Rowing is committed to building the future of rowing. Novice rowing is the opportunity to learn to row at the varsity level with no previous rowing experience needed. Novice rowers have a strong athletic background in other sports and learn to row and compete at the highest levels.
Whether novice or varsity, our commitment to student-athletes is simple: We will support them in pursuing their goals. Rowing’s mission is to achieve excellence academically, athletically, and as people through an athlete-driven and process-oriented approach.
Rowing at the university level is a challenging endeavour that requires exceptional dedication, work ethic, and teamwork. But you won't be alone in this journey. Our team culture is one of unwavering support and resilience. From the Brock Sports Performance Centre to Brock Sports Medicine, Team Dietician, top-level coaching, and more, we're here to support you every step of the way.
Our program has a proven track record of developing athletes, with many of our rowers being selected for FISU, U23, and Senior National teams. However, a desire to make a national team is not something we require of our student-athletes. Rather, we ask them to be their best selves on and off the water and strive towards excellence.
